Hays County, Texas, has been home to a number of football teams that have made it to the playoffs since 1960. La Grange, Daingerfield, Pittsburg, Reagan County, Edna, and Denver City have all had the opportunity to compete in the postseason. However, one team stands out from the rest in terms of recent success: Hays High School. Under the guidance of head coach Les Goad, the team has made three playoff appearances since 2001 and boasts an impressive overall record of 26-9.The Slot-t offense employed by Goad since 1990 has been a major factor in the team's success.
Hays High School is currently preparing for a Division II Class 6A state semifinal against Katy on Saturday in Waco. With Goad at the helm, Hays High School is sure to put up a good fight and make their county proud.
